- The GETPIVOTDATA function returns visible data from a PivotTable. In this example, =GETPIVOTDATA('Sales',A3) returns the total sales amount from a PivotTable: Syntax. GETPIVOTDATA(datafield, pivottable, field1, item1, field2, item2.) The GETPIVOTDATA function syntax has the following arguments.
- Select any cell in the pivot table. Go to the Design tab on the Ribbon. Select the Grand Totals option. Choose the option that is appropriate for your pivot table (usually On for Rows Only).

Excel 2016 Getpivotdata
Trying to use ISERROR and ' (see formula below) to return blanks instead of zeros for a table that holds sales data for the calendar year -- need values for months that have no sales data to register as blanks instead of zeros to ensure accuracy of charts that are based on table.
Am using Excel for Mac 2011.
